An important Oketani Seminar and General Meeting was held today at the Institute of Maternal and Child Health (ICMH), Matuail, Dhaka under the initiative of Oketani Association Bangladesh.
The program was attended by the Director of the organization, Professor Dr. Mujibur Rahman and Joint Director Dr. Md. Ahsanul Haque as the chief guest and special guest. In addition, the Japanese Delegates from JICA, Japan, Masao Awano and Mari Miyahara and the representative of the Regional Office of JICA, Japan, Yumi Okasaki participated in the seminar, which added an international dimension to the program.
The seminar discussed in detail the effectiveness of breast milk management and the Oketani method. The speakers highlighted the importance of the Oketani method in protecting the health of newborns and mothers and emphasized on taking more effective initiatives to spread this method in Bangladesh.
The general meeting discussed the organization’s current activities, future plans and expansion of training programs. The guests present welcomed such initiatives and called for working together to improve maternal and child health. The event was held in a lively and productive atmosphere and the active presence of the participants made the seminar more successful.
