To mark the 47th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a free medical camp was held in Fatullah, Narayanganj on Saturday. The camp, organized by Afia Jalal Foundation and Jannah Welfare Foundation under the supervision of former Fatullah Thana BNP president Shah Alam, began at 10 a.m. at United Club in Enayetnagar Union.

Eighteen specialist doctors provided healthcare services in two shifts until evening. Patients received prescriptions, free medicines, and discounted diagnostic facilities. “We have gynecology, medicine, cancer, dermatology and other specialists attending the camp. Each patient is being given necessary treatment, and diagnostic tests are available at 50 percent reduced cost at Afia Jalal Diagnostic Center, with free report consultations,” said Arafat Islam Jitu, chief coordinator of the camp.

Shah Alam, the initiator of the event, said the program was part of BNP’s anniversary celebrations. “We plan to extend such medical camps to every union. My goal is to stand by middle- and lower-income families and serve them. Earlier, I arranged similar camps on August 5, Liberation from Fascism Day, and on the birthday of our leader Begum Khaleda Zia,” he said.

Among those present were former district BNP organizing secretary Nazrul Islam Panna, former joint organizing secretary M.A. Akbar, ex-president of Enayetnagar Union BNP Abbas Ali Babul, former organizing secretary Habibur Rahman Ripon, former Kutubpur Union BNP general secretary Taher Molla, ex-member of Fatullah Thana BNP convening committee Shahjahan Ali, district Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Projonmo Dal convener Ariful Islam Titu, and former vice-president of Kashipur Union BNP Amirul Islam, among others.
